Thirty-four prints have been selected, fine-tuned, and printed: thirty-two of them on poster-hangers, and two matted and framed.
Each print will be available in three presentations: "bare", with poster-hanger, or matted and framed, at prices from $80 to $200.
Food has been ordered. Wine has been selected. A somewhat pretentious "artist's statement" has been fabricated. Dozens of catalogs/brochures have been printed. A newspaper advertisement has been placed, and the nice folks at GAC have agreed to publicize the show in the next Gabriola Arts Council bulletin. Notices have been placed on almost every mail-box notice board on the island, and in a few other select locations. I've even arranged for a photographer from Vancouver (my younger daughter!) to be at the Friday evening opening, to document the event. Apart from the turtle-neck sweater and beret, I'm all set to go. I'll definitely be at the Centre Gallery on Friday evening, August 9. If you'd like a guided tour some other day (between August 6 and September 28), get in touch with me, and we'll see if we can arrange a tour of the prints. … or: drop in at the Centre Gallery whenever the Professional Centre is open.
